Late Summer School
The Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences would like to give you, as a new student at our institution, a good start to your studies by offering a Late Summer School two weeks prior to the beginning of the winter semester.
It combines preparation courses for your studies, information events, project work, excursions and fun. Apart from subjectbased courses, there will be a welcoming party, mutual sports activities, a guided tour of the campus, and a first taste of student nightlife.
Please note: The full information is currently only available in German.
Dates and times
The Late Summer School 2016 will take place from 19th September to 1st October 2016.
- The courses usually start at 9 a.m. and end at 5 p.m.
- It is not possible to enter the courses or the project work at a later date.
The Late Summer School is addressed to German and international students who would like to begin their studies in the winter semester at the following departments:
- Engineering / Industrial Design
- Social Work, Health and Media
- Water, Environment, Construction and Safety
- international exchange students of ALL courses of study
The Late Summer School runs for a total of two weeks. On the first day you will be welcomed and will receive an introduction to the courses and to the project work. In the evening you are invited to a welcoming party.
In the following days you will visit the subject-based courses in the morning. The interdisciplinary courses and projects as well as leisure and social activities will take place in the afternoon. Of course, there will be enough time for things like apartment hunting and visits to the authorities, too. At the Saturdays, there will be excursions which can be of touristic or academic nature.
International exchange students will be awarded 3 ECTS credits for participating in the intensive German language course and passing the final exam.
Online registration is required for certain Late Summer School activities (personal skills, leisure activities, project work and treasure hunt); these are marked accordingly. This will enable us to make effective preparations for the Late Summer School.
